90 Second Almond Keto Bread

I have been reading much about the Keto diet. My curiosity flamed by the uncountable blogs and bloggers who claim that this diet has changed their lives. The weight loss claims have been wide spread and tremendous.

I don’t follow a Keto diet. I don’t follow any diet as I believe that moderation is the key to eating. However I am always on the look out for new recipes to try.

This recipe I found particularly attractive. A keto bread made in the microwave, in a mug and in 90 seconds. Perfect to whip up when I was craving bread and didn’t want to spend a few hours in kitchen that a regular loaf of bread requires.

If you are on a Keto diet this bread is bound to be a game changer for you. I have read that bread is one of the foods that people miss most on a keto diet.

Though almond bread remains an alternative but it does require more ingredients and it is bit tricky to put together. Needless to say not everyone is fond of baking. So, for those folks on the go, or those without ovens or those without the time or inclination to cook, this 90-second keto bread made in the microwave is the perfect solution.

It’s literally as simple as mixing a few ingredients in a mug and popping it in the microwave. And in less than two minutes you have a keto friendly bread, almost as easy as putting bread in the toaster.

This keto bread is extremely versatile and can be used for making burgers and sandwiches. The structure of slice is good and doesn’t crumble. I layered it with labneh and olives sprinkled some red chilly flakes. Other options could be to use cream cheese as a spread.

This recipe makes 1 serving.

1 serving = 1 full mug bread.

This bread is also just 2 net carbs for the entire mug, so that is a definite plus point. And with 28 grams of fat and 13 grams of protein.

90 second Almond Keto Bread

Ingredients

  • 30 grams Almond Flour
  • 10 grams Salted Butter
  • 1/2 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 Egg

Instructions

  • Mix all the ingredients in a mug (or bowl)
  • Microwave the mug for 90 seconds (if mixed in a bowl then transfer to the mug before microwaving the mug)
  • Overturn the mug and it will slide out
  • Slice and eat, or toast, or make a sandwich

Note:

This bread does have a strong egg smell (like that of a boiled egg). If you don’t like the smell I suggest adding 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder and/or 1/4 tsp mixed herbs.
